When you play any game, the first thing you'll hear is music to build up the tension or create a suitable atmosphere. Those people who have been working hard to make music for Amiga games (both old and new) have come together with the help of Ruben Monteiro to make an album, Immortal.
Ruben Monteiro explains that, This project is dedicated to the Amiga, a computer system that has survived two bankruptcies from it's parent companies and a number of adversities, and still it has a large and dedicated user base who has kept it alive. No other home computer would ever survive such situations, hence the Amiga is Immortal.
Immortal features music tracks from Shadow of the Beast, Dafel: Bloodline, Explorer 2260, Project X '99, Superfrog, The Final Odyssey, Blockhead II, The Strangers, Harlequin, Utopia, Alien Breed 3D, Space Station 3000, Flyin' High, Turrican 3 (Bionic Action) and Queen Hantilia (from 'Wolves of the Gods'). Ruben Moneiro points out that these tracks have been recreated using state of the art equipment, to provide with mind-blowing studio versions, many of them done by their original composers, which results in the best possible accuracy in recreating the feel of the original.
Immortal has brought together Amiga Musicians such as Allister Brimble, Barry Leitch, Bjorn Lynne, Darryl Sloan and Jochen Heizmann. I think many people may take the excellent music in games for granted, so perhaps this album, Immortal will provide you with some fantastic music tracks and highlight the work of such talented Amiga Musicians.
Immortal will be released in April at the estimated price of 13.00 UK pounds.
