Vote For The Top 10 Games Of 2000

This is the third year that Amiga Flame gives Amiga Gamers the opportunity to vote for the �Best Game of 2000�. This year has been a mixed bag of the great and the not so great and so it will be interesting to discover which game is best this year.

I recommend that Gamers select their choice wisely, by reading through the list of games as you only have one vote.

Tales From Heaven
First Mario N64 clone Darkage Software Darkage Software's first commercial release was to see the first Mario 64 clone reach the Amiga. It was thought to be impossible but Darkage proved them wrong. The demo proved to one of the most talked about demos featured on Amiga Flame with so many gamers downloading the game at the same time, that it overwhelmed the system.

Seaside
Tourist management type game, similar to Theme Park APC & TCP Theme Park was one of the hottest games on the Amiga, allowing gamers to manage everything from the rides to the prices of food and drinks. Seaside offered much the same but it didn't live up to the expectations of most reviewers.

Heretic II
Quake style game Hyperion Software Titan Computer Heretic 2, a Quake style game was the first conversion from Hyperion and was highly successful especially with Amiga PowerPC gamers. Both Amiga Format and Amiga Active were impressed.

Foundation: Gold Edition
Real-time strategy game Paul Burkey Epic Interactive Foundation Gold has been described as being almost the unofficial sequel of the original Foundation strategy game. It in fact combines Foundation Directors Cut and Foundation � The undiscovered Land, adding a number of new features such as a full graphic rework with all in-game graphics also improved including character animation, buildings, trees and all other game objects. 40 additional maps were also included.

Joyride
Racing Titan Computer Joyride was inspired by Xtreme Racing but was not to be its successor. Unfortunately it received negative reviews from most of the Amiga magazines. However, perhaps there are some gamers who think otherwise.

Code Name Hell Squad
Action Adventure Digital Dreams Entertainment Digital Dreams Entertainment Digital Dreams Entertainment bought the rights to the game back in October from AVM, and it has been truly a worthy second game from Digital Dreams Entertainment (the makers of Wasted Dreams). Code Name Hell Squad is an action adventure game in which you lead a team of four mercenaries, through beautifully hand-drawn backgrounds on a mission to survive.

Bubble Heroes
Puzzle/ Adventure Arcadia Developments Crystal Interactive Software Bubble Heroes a puzzle/ adventure game in the same style as the popular Puzzle Bobble. It was released at the SEAL Show. One Amiga gamer at the show, Gary Storm said Bubble Heroes �is a game very similar to `Bust A Move 2" on the Playstation" and that "anyone who`s played that knows how addictive and fun it is, and "Bubble Heroes" is a fantastic Amiga rendition�.

Virtual Ball Fighters
Puzzle Xteam Software Solution Virtual Ball Fighters is a puzzle game for the Amiga in which can have one or two players, features eight characters and is said to have �ultra realistic artificial intelligence� with 8 levels of artificial intelligence. A review by Kids Domain said, �This is like no other Tetris game you have ever seen. The 3D graphics are unbelievable�.

Nightlong
Adventure Trecison ClickBOOM Nightlong was published by Team 17 last year with ClickBOOM striking a conversion deal with them to bring it to the Amiga. Nightlong is a Blade Runner type game with over 80 detailed locations to explore, stunning 16-bit cyberpunk graphics and full screen movie sequences. There are many engrossing puzzles and it boasts speech recorded by professional actors. Another quality game from ClickBOOM.

Earth 2140
Real-time strategy game Topware Epic Interactive This real-time strategy game was just released in time for Christmas with Pagan Games completing the task of converting this Topware title. This game has received many recommendations. Gamercenter said that, �Earth 2140 offers raw, unbridled carnage for the thinking gamer� while SoftSeek believe, it has �the best 'feel' of all the new command and conquer games�.

Simon The Sorcerer II
Adventure Adventure Soft Epic Interactive Paul Burkey (creator of Foundation) and Peter Mulholland completed the task of converting Adventure Soft's game, Simon The Sorcerer II. It is played with an easy point & click interface and features hand-drawn locations and characters with more than 50,000 frames of animation. It was only released in the closely weeks of December, but it is sure to still make its mark on the Chart.

Exodus: The Last War
Real-time strategy game Blittersoft Exodus: The Last War is a real-time strategy game developed by a Polish team and just out in time for Christmas. Single-player gamers face up to 20 maps while in multiplayer mode there are 24 maps with 2 gamers able to play via null-modem.
