Amiga Inc has released details on its major activities for over the coming months. They have confirmed that Amiga Inc and Amiga International are to become one single corporate entity, which is to be named simply Amiga. More importantly they have secured funding on a significant budget to drive their plans forward. Amiga's Executive HQ has moved to San Diego, and are opening up San Jose engineering facilities to support their rapid engineering expansion.

The new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is to be announced in a two weeks but Amiga Flame has found out early. Steve Folberg, an Amiga Flame source has learned that Rick LeFaivre, Ph.D is the new Chief Technology Officer who certainty has a proven track record as he was Apple's advanced technology chief, as well as holding high-level tech positions at Borland and at Silicon Graphics. Steve Folberg comments that it seems apparent that this guy's services can't come cheap; Gateway's finally throwing some real money at Amiga perhaps because Collas has some real clout with them. Thanks to Steve Folberg for noticing that Amiga Inc mention his name in the Amiga Contact Information section on their web site.

Amiga Inc is to attend the World of Amiga Show (July this year), Computer 99 show in Cologne, and the Las Vegas Comdex in November. Jim Collas is planning a trip to Germany and the U.K. in late April in order to discuss future Amiga plans with leaders of the Amiga community in Europe.

The Amiga NG's target release date remains the end of the year in time for the new millennium.
