Amiga has just made public the Amiga Technology Brief that many Amiga users have been desperately trying to get hold off. Amiga President, Jim Collas reveals that the next computer revolution is on the horizon, a revolution that will unleash the full power of computers to the masses and finally fulfil the promises of the information age.
The Technology Brief provides a very high-level overview of the development direction and technology choices being made by Amiga. Jim Collas although warns, I have to strongly emphasize that we have not released some of the most strategic parts of our vision and technology, unfortunately, communicating the complete vision at this time would jeopardize our competitive advantage and business success.
It does give a detailed overview with the technology brief broken down into a number of key areas; Technology Philosophy and Overview, AmigaObjects and the Amiga Operating Environment, Amiga MCC Operating System, Graphics, Multimedia and GUI Frameworks, Pervasive Networking, Software Block Diagram, Amiga MCC Hardware Architecture, and Development Tools and Applications.
On the software front the technology brief mentions that as we move closer to the Amiga OE and Amiga MCC ship dates, companies developing applications and tools for the new Amiga's will announce their own plans to release software for the Amiga.
Amiga President, Jim Collas comments that those people who have seen Amiga's full vision have been extremely impressed and stated, It is compelling and will drive the future of computing. I look forward to sharing more strategic details on the vision in the months to come starting at WoA and AmiWest.
