Crystal Software and Electronics Support The Amiga
*

In a significant move, Amiga Flame has been informed by Managing Director, David Connolly of Crystal Software and Electronics, that they wish to support the Amiga and are looking forward to the forthcoming Amiga NG with intentions to publish quality Amiga software worldwide.

Crystal Software and Electronics are specialist publishers with worldwide distribution, and routes into high street retailers and has a large marketing budget. I asked David Connolly two important questions.

1. Why have Crystal Software and Electronics decided to develop and publish games for the Amiga?

CS&E will not be developing any games for the Amiga, only publishing and distributing. Of course the actual making of a game is of great importance, but there seems to be a worrying trend of developers going it alone as they see that most of the publishers around cannot do the required job. For a game to be a success it needs to be a great game, but you also need people to buy it. All of the games published by us will be of the highest quality, and will be advertised to make people aware.

2. For those developers who might be interested in having their game published by Crystal Software and Electronics, what are the advantages?

CS&E can offer developers a worldwide licensing or distribution deal with good royalties and an advance upfront to show our commitment to decent Amiga software. Our advantages of having use of efficient distribution through PDQ (www.pdqdist.co.uk), and routes into high street stores is passed on to the developer. Simply put, we will be able to sell the most units of a great Amiga game, and that can only be a good thing for the Amiga.
