Hyperion Software has announced that they have obtained a licence to convert Interplay's Freespace: The Great War, a space-combat simulator to the Amiga. Freespace is fact the technical sequel to the Descent series.

Managing Director of Hyperion Software, Ben Hermans had this to say on the announcement; Descent Freespace pushed the genre of the space-combat simulators into new realms of realism and graphical excellence. We are therefore very excited to bring this unrivalled experience to the Amiga especially because the genre has been notably absent on the Amiga in recent years. With Descent Freespace we continue to deliver on our promise of bringing high-end bestsellers to the Amiga platform. If users ever needed a reason to upgrade to PPC, this is it.

Freespace: The Great War will be released in the first half of 2000 and will be published by Titan Computers.
